“Don’t be into trends. Don’t make fashion own you, but you decide what you are, what you want to express by the way you dress and the way to live.” —Gianni Versace

As the song says “she’s a dedicated follower of fashion”.
I don’t mean the I follow the latest trends off the catwalks of Paris or Milan… I mean I just love clothes, high end or high street makes no difference to me.
Style should be individual, make you feel good. Your clothes should be unique and not the same as the fashion sheep were everyone looks the same wearing whatever trend is current at that time no matter if it suits them or not!
Your clothes should reflect you and who you are. Remember the art teachers at school? They always seemed to dress in floaty dresses flamboyant and colourful. At school we used to chuckle and wonder why they dressed so odd and stood out from the rest of the teachers, but if you think about it they were dressing for who they were, artistic, creative and unique, after all no two paintings are the same.
I’ve followed trends over the years and been miserable uncomfortable and felt socially awkward because it’s just wasn’t me!! Ra-ra and puffball skirts in the 80’s I think was my biggest faux par, along with the curly perms and Kicker shoes! Oh and not forgetting the Grolsh lager bottle tops we put on our shoes!! – what were we thinking? That said I’m not against a sprinkle of on trend trendiness, for instance I’m loving the dress and trainer combos at the mo both for practically and comfort, because if your like me, a lady of a certain age, then comfort is at the top if the list!!
I used to worry about dressing to young for my age (in the last year of me 40’s!!) but now I think who cares what people think! If I love it and it makes me feel good then I will wear it!
Gone are the days of diets life too short not to eat cake!
Find your shape, find your style, dress to impress and love your body. Your body is amazing whatever shape or size because your body is you and you are beautiful. ♥️
